Arrows point to the normal (Fig 1) and to the large vestibular aqueduct (Fig 2). The vestibular aqueduct connects the inner ear endolymphatic space to the endolymphatic sac for the purpose of regulating the inner ear fluid homeostasis needed for normal hearing. The large vestibular aqueduct syndrome (LVAS) a genetically inherited syndrome commonly seen in children. It presents with variable cochlear anomalies, mixed hearing loss, dizziness and be associated with thyroid disease.
