Benign Paroxismal Positional Vertigo is a feeling of episodic dizziness that is frequently triggered by a change in head and/or body position. The following is a list of symptoms, causes, and treatment methods for BPPV. Symptoms
Causes The three main causes for BPPV are Viral Upper Respiratory Tract Infections (URI), post-head trauma and Meniere's disease. A more seldom cause is brain tumors. Treatment The most effective treatment for BPPV are repositioning maneuevers. These maneuvers are done in-office under physician direction and are effective in 95% of cases. |
